Hi I am Dilek, product designer and lecturer, from London, UK. Over the last 14 years I have had pleasure of teaching design in universities in Istanbul. Since June 2019 I have been continuing my design practices in London.
I received my BSc degree in Industrial Design in 1999, I designed glass objects, furniture and jewelleries in various companies in Istanbul. I attended competitions in these subjects and received awards as well.
I received my PhD degree in Industrial Design in 2012 and I held full time Associate Professor position in Industrial Design at universities. I led modules for 14 years in undergraduate programmes of industrial design, graphic design, architecture, and postgraduate programmes of industrial design and urban design as well. The modules I led were mostly focusing on design studio, design history, design identity, branding, urban identity and city branding. I co-ordinated industry-university collaboration projects, and organised workshops and exhibitions with my colleagues from diverse disciplines as well.
I am currently working on my own brand 'designocreate'. I spend most of my time by drawing illustrations, learning new things and applying new techniques and materials on my design.
